28 April 2011 - World Day for Safety and Health at Work
April 2011
World Day for Safety and Health at Work is an international annual campaign to promote safe, healthy and decent work and the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases globally.
It is an awareness-raising campaign intended to focus international attention on the magnitude of the problem and on how promoting and creating a safety and health culture can help reduce the number of work-related deaths and injuries.
On 28 April this year, thousands of representatives of governments, employers and workers will be celebrating the International Labour Office's World Day for Safety and Health at Work. They will be considering how to make their contribution to the Decent Work Agenda by improving working conditions and making work in their areas safe and healthy. You are invited to join the ILO and other organisations around the world in promoting this important day.
