Mental Health for Health and Safety Professionals Conference on 11 May 2017

April 2017

A recent survey in SHP shows that 63% of health and safety professionals have mental health as part of their remit and a further 21% contribute to policy. As a fairly new but incredibly important field of focus, thinking is changing at a fast pace. Should you invest in mental health first aid? Is training mental health first aiders enough to ensure you have a robust mental health focus and policy in your organisation?

Heather Beach’s new Healthy Work Company and Professor Tim Marsh, present this one day event during Mental Health Awareness Week, designed to inspire health and safety professionals to own mental health, working with stakeholders such as HR. It will provide practical tools to enhance an existing programme or build a new one.

This conference, being held on the 11th May 2017 at the British Medical Association in London, brings together globally renowned specialists in the field together with well-known keynote speakers to provide inspiration (how can YOU make a difference and why you should) as well as practical support to get a programme together or build on an existing one.

Speakers include Norman Lamb MP and Professor Lord Richard Layard. They join Alastair Campbell, Health and Safety Laboratory (HSL) Clare Forshaw, Psychologists Tim Marsh and Sharon De Mascia and industry peers Karl Simons and Clive Johnson to provide a comprehensive and engaging day.
