Minutes of the committee meeting held on 18th February 2008 at 13

PRESENT

Matter Arising
No previous meeting.
Insurance
No increase in annual cost for 2008 third party liability insurance. AR
to supply cheque to JT for £105. Renewal date 1st March 2008. Civil
liability limit maintained at £2,000.000
Lottery Submission
- The submission had been circulated to all committee members prior to
this meeting.
- It was agreed to increase the provisional cost of coach hire to £350
per annum to cover inflation.
- Total amount now being claimed for is £1817.
- All agreed the application document was now complete and to
everyone's satisfaction. JT will send it, along with other relevant
documents to Awards for All in Newcastle for consideration.
Walking Programme
- A proposal to increase the number of walks held during the year was
discussed. It was felt that the programme should include some shorter
local walks, and walks outside the area of Todwick. (All)
- It was suggested that it would be beneficial to the Club if more
members would agree to lead walks. JT & TC offered to help new
leaders, if they required any preparation for their walks.
- TC agreed to lead a walk on 17th March 2008 from Hardwick Hall NT
car park starting at 10.30 hrs.
Car Sharing Policy
After a period of discussion the following submission was suggested.
Any member/non member requiring a lift should be prepared to share fuel
costs. The committee recommends the following formula: (20p per mile
divided by the number travelling in the car), as a guide.
Rotherham Walking Festival 2008
A discussion regarding the benefits of leading a walk for the Festival,
from a point of view of advertising the Todwick Ramblers Club ensued. It
was thought it may encourage possible new members. TC and JT to liaise on
the possibility of leading a walk. Anyone else wishing to lead a walk to
contact JT.
Quiz Night at the Todwick Village Hall Saturday 8th March
5 members have put their names forward to form a team to be entered in
the Quiz for the Todwick Ramblers Club. Tickets available from AR, cost £2.50
each. Additional team supporters will be appreciated. Information to be
circulated on rambles, (All)
Pub Lunch 19th February
As advertised: Meet 10.00 hrs outside the Duke of Leeds Pub where it is
proposed to choose your lunch menu prior to walking.
List of Telephone Numbers
TC offered to update the list of telephone numbers and possible E mail
addresses for the circulation of the Ramblers Walk magazine. This would
also be useful in circulating Club information.
