EditorialPreparing for the ILO World Day for Safety and Health at Work 28 April 2007Sheila Pantry OBE There is still time to make preparations in your organization to draw attention to the International Labour Organization (ILO) World Day of Safety and Health at Work. The theme for 2007 is Safe and Healthy Workplaces - Making decent work a Reality. In 2003, the ILO began to observe World Day stressing the prevention of illness and accidents at work, capitalizing on its traditional strengths of tripartism and social dialogue. 28 April is also a day the world's trade union movement has long associated with commemorating victims of occupational accidents and disease. So look to see what can be done in your workplace to improve the standards of health and safety. Everyone should be involved.
